Description
Job DescriptionThe Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at the University of Maryland School of Medicine is seeking an ophthalmologist to join the fulltime faculty. Expected faculty rank for this position is Assistant Professor or higher, however, final rank, tenure status and salary will be dependent upon selected candidate's qualifications and experience. The candidate should be ABO-eligible or ABO-certified. Both clinician-educators and clinician-scientists are welcome to apply. The qualified applicant will be expected to provide oculoplastics services at the University of Maryland Medical Center, R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center (Level 1 Trauma Center for the State of Maryland), Veterans Affairs Medical Center, and ambulatory care locations. Laboratory space and resources in the Department are available for individuals with basic research interest.
The campus is located in the heart of downtown Baltimore, near Camden Yards and M&T Bank Football Stadiums, and only minutes away from the Inner Harbor, Maryland Science Center, and the National Aquarium. In addition to Baltimore's many outstanding attractions, from fine arts and orchestras to professional sports teams, first-class dining and shopping, and numerous historical sites, Washington, D.C., Philadelphia and New York City are within easy reach, as are beaches to the East and mountains to the West. Educational excellence abounds, as do family-friendly neighborhoods and urban living options.
